Enjoyed another lovely newborn baby portrait session last week. Matilda was very very sleepy and although there were glimmers of her awakening she was very happy just chilling out! This led to some very cute shots and some amazing facial expressions.
Matilda’s Mum was really chuffed with the images and sent a lovely e-mail after viewing them – “I LOVE them – you are very clever! Even though she is still so new to the world you have managed to capture her personality. I will never be able to choose!”
At home newborn sessions are so fantastic – there’s no pressure on time and I love the challenge of using available light and backgrounds in the home environment. To view some more baby portfolio images please do drop by my website gallery – PORTRAIT PORTFOLIO

Wanted to share a handful of my favourite images from a recent newborn baby portrait shoot with the very very cute Charlie…. He was a star with the camera! I absolutely love at home shoots – beautiful natural light and the ability to just shadow everyday routines and capture gorgeous moments.

Following up from a previous newborn session I had a great time hanging out with best friends Sam & Evi and their families at Kirkstall Abbey. Luckily the wellies were on as Sam managed to find the one puddle in the park! We also took a bit of time out to enjoy some chilled out colouring in the visitor’s centre…

I absolutely love family lifestyle shoots and working with little people is one of my all time favourite things! You can view lots more porfolio images of some of my work with children HERE…

I enjoyed a lovely baby portrait session with Rose and her Mum Fi on Tuesday in Leeds. I absolutely love at home baby sessions and really keen to increase my availability for family portrait commissions in 2010. I’ve photographed Rose’s big brother Sam when he was just as tiny and am looking forward to getting together with the full family in a couple of weeks for another session. Congratulations to Mike & Fi and of course a huge hello to baby Rose!

Please do visit my online portrait portfolio to view lots more baby and family images and please don’t hesitate to make contact if you’d like to find out more about my approach and services.

Working for yourself can be a lonely business sometimes so I’m really chuffed to be part of a fantastic network of photographers. Every so often we get together to chat about photography and life over a coffee (or normally something slightly stronger with a cherry on the top!) and take the opportunity for some new shooting challenges. I’m a massive fan of natural light photography but look the love of high fashion flash so jumped at the chance to take some images alongside the very talented 3B Media boys. The canal development around the new City Inn hotel in Leeds was the location of choice – it was pretty much dark when the cameras came out so getting creative with available light sources and the all important off camera flash was the order of the day. Here are some of my favourites – a big thank you to our fab models Steph & Charlotte…

It was lovely to meet George last week for a really fun baby portrait session. George was an absolute star and was full of smiles and fab expressions…

Rather than the often time pressured experience of visiting a photography studio I like to visit clients at home so that everything is really relaxed. This is so important for tiny people as it means we can work around feeding / changing and just take time out when needed! There are lots more examples of my baby portrait work on my website – do get in touch for further info.
As a little warning and I’m so sorry to mention the “C” word – but sessions over the next few weeks are quickly getting booked up so do get in touch as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Photography is such a unique and personal present – and rather than many of the quick fix throw away gifts that are starting to appear in our high streets – is something that will be treasured for years to come…

I’ve just completed a lovely shoot with a beautiful little girl called Mia and her family. I thought I’d upload a handful of images to showcase what stunning results you can achieve with available light. As I’ve highlighted before, working with little people in their own environment is so much more rewarding and relaxing for all involved.
I love to photograph tiny hands and feet – babies shoot up so quickly and I think these images are such an important document of your growing child.

I can always tell when the “wedding season” is coming to a end as I start to discover weekends again and am able to start taking on more diverse commissions… This Saturday was pretty busy catching up on wedding processing tasks and 2 photography sessions. The first was a family portrait session involving 6 kids.

The evening saw me heading over to The Academy Health Club in Harrogate to document their annual tennis club awards evening – the theme was James Bond and all of the guests had gone to town with their outfits. Flash cars, fire eaters, martini cocktails, silhouetted dancers and the all important casino made sure everyone had a fantastic evening.
