Many congratulations to Brad & Wendy who got married at the very lovely Tempest Arms near Skipton at the end of November. The wedding had a really relaxed intimate vibe and with a late kick off time of 4pm was all about cosy indoor shots using ambient light. I’ve picked out some of my favourites – including some of Brad & Wendy’s two children who played a big part on the day! Weddings with little people are so much fun to photograph!

Winter Wedding at The Tempest Arms, Skipton
December 22, 2009A lovely surprise!
December 10, 2009I had a lovely surprise yesterday evening when I found a beautiful pink orchid had been delivered to the studio building – it was a gorgeous thank you prezzie from Katie & Mike who’s wedding I photographed back in August at Rudding Park. They’d attached a fab card with some amazing words…
“Just to say a huge THANK YOU!! We realy cannot say it enough! The photos and the album you have created for us was absolutely amazing, we can’t stop looking at them (which in itself is amazing as I normally hate all photos of myself!) You really have done a wonderful job right from the word go – being so friendly when we first chatted to helping fasten the bridesmaid dresses to mingling in with our family and friends during the day and to the outstanding end product. So many people commented on how they didn’t even notice you there and then wehn they did what a fab job you did. We have recommended you to all our friends and my Mum, Dad & sister can’t speak highly enough of you! Thank you so much love from Katie & Mike”
Thank you so much for your thoughtful gift Katie & Mike – it’s so lovely to get such amazing feedback and it’s always so important to me that families love the photography experience too…
I rode the Wave – Climate Change March in London
December 8, 2009Just back today from an amazing weekend in London after joining in with the Climate March in London on Saturday known as THE WAVE – hence the fabulous blue running throughout. I understand that media coverage hasn’t been fantastic (surprise surprise – there was probably a fascinating football scandal that needed to take precedence) so in case you didn’t pick up on what was happening – over 50,000 people from all walks on life marched on Parliament to highlight their fears and concerns about the impact of climate change at the opening of the climate talks in Copenhagen. These are a handful of the images that I took on the march – many thanks to my buddy Matt Carmichael for the portrait of me and my husband Jonny (picture no 1!). I was in documentary heaven for the march and the atmosphere was amazing… If you are involved in a climate group/charity and would like to make use of the images please do make contact as I’m more than happy to help out….
Welcome to Rose – gorgeous baby portraits
December 4, 2009I enjoyed a lovely baby portrait session with Rose and her Mum Fi on Tuesday in Leeds. I absolutely love at home baby sessions and really keen to increase my availability for family portrait commissions in 2010. I’ve photographed Rose’s big brother Sam when he was just as tiny and am looking forward to getting together with the full family in a couple of weeks for another session. Congratulations to Mike & Fi and of course a huge hello to baby Rose!
Please do visit my online portrait portfolio to view lots more baby and family images and please don’t hesitate to make contact if you’d like to find out more about my approach and services.
The Wave – march for a safe climate future
December 4, 2009I’m getting really excited about my trip to London tomorrow on The Wave Express to join thousands of others marching to demonstrate my support for a safe climate future in advance of next weeks climate talks in Copenhagen. The action starts at 12pm at Grosvenor Square with the climax of the march happening at 3pm when we will circle Parliament – it’s going to be a family focused day so really safe with lots of entertainment and music. Blue is the fashion choice for the day and I have a rather fetching blue wig ready for action! I’m going to be taking a camera with me so promise to post some documentary shots of the march next week…
Please do join me if you can as it’s so important that we send our world leaders a strong message that nothing but a strong and binding agreement in Copenhagen will do:
Thank you…
December 1, 2009A big thank you to Brad & Wendy for their lovely e-mail… I photographed their wedding at the Tempest Arms near Skipton a couple of weeks ago and will post some of my favourite images really soon.
“Just wanted to say a quick thank you for the DVD you put in the post for us. It was such a lovely surprise to find it waiting for us when we got home from honeymoon. I have spoken to a few friends and reli’s and they have all said that they didn’t even know you were taking photos of them, which is exactly what we wanted. You have really managed to capture the essence of the day for us, everyone looks so relaxed and happy and it’s nice to see things that we didn’t notice on the day.”
So pleased you love the pics – looking forward to catching up soon x
