Outdoor Wedding Ceremony – Aldby Park
OUTDOOR WEDDING CEREMONY
I absolutely loved documenting Anna and Lee’s outdoor wedding ceremony at Aldby Park in Buttercrambe near York a few weeks ago. Aldby Park is such a gem of a wedding venue and gives you access to the beautiful grounds with the option for you to have your choice of marquee on the lawn with views of the house. The venue is looked after by the brilliant team at Louisiana Weddings.
My approach with my wedding photography is to tailor coverage to the needs of each couple. I understand that not everyone needs an epic full day of photography coverage and so love offering my services for a handful of hours to cover the key elements of the celebrations. I did 3 hours of photography for Anna and Lee which captured a sense of guests arriving, the wonderful ceremony and the drinks reception. There was plenty of time for some portraits of the newly weds in the gardens as well as some relaxed family groups and tons of details of the amazing theming and decor.
The outdoor blessing ceremony was held in the secret garden and was led by Louisa from Starr Gazing Ceremonies It’s always great working with Louisa as she puts some much care and personal attention into each ceremony she leads. Guests were seated on hay bales with the dramatic tiger cage (thankfully empty these days!) as the focal point for the ceremony. Lee’s Mum was behind all of the decor and styling on the day and the attention to detail was phenomenal! Anna’s gorgeous dress was a bespoke creation by Pin, Cut, Sew with Jan The button detailing and contrasting fabric down the back looked so cool.
The ceremony included an emotional reading by Anna’s Mum and a full crowd sing song before Anna and Lee made their vows and exchanged rings. It was photography heaven to document and wonderful to have the opportunity to be photographing outdoors. After the ceremony drinks were served on the lawn with Louisiana’s Mobile Bars at the side of the house with acoustic music performed by friends. The party then swung round to the main lawn where Gilli’s Gin Tin which is a really cool converted horse box were on hand to serve epic G&T’s! Children had an amazing time with Cheeky Chops Childcare on hand to entertain them with games on the lawn. There was an amazing festival vibe with guests in wellies and drinks in hand. The musical influences and vibes came through on a personal level as Lee is in a band – Vessels. His usher team on the day was made up of fellow band members.
The marquee came from Bespoke Tents and Events and it looks amazing decked out with the rustic styling. I was in detail photograph heaven! The lovely cake with a musical twist was by Lisa Marie Cakes.
So many congratulations again to you both xxx
I love photographing small weddings – whether small is classed as the number of hours needed on the day or the number of guests. Rather than have fixed packages I offer a bespoke approach to coverage so that photography can be tailored to the needs of each couple.
