Start up branding photography – Ginny & Joy Luxury Gift Boxes

I always love start up branding photography commissions.  It’s such an exciting time as the new business owner pulls together their final visions for their branding and marketing.  Ginny and Joy curate beautiful luxury gift boxes which make the perfect alternative to the normal bunch of flowers.  Boxes are named for different occasions or themes.  The gifts are locally sourced from Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with a focus on small independent businesses.  They really have a unique and special feel and were lovely to photograph due to the range of colours and products involved.

There are some favourite clients on the supplier list including Choc Affair from York, Roost Coffee and Forleaves Tea Company from Malton and Minimalist Me Designs from Harrogate.

To fit with the lovely clean website design by Lianne Darley Design Studio the boxes and contents were photographed with a flat lay set up.  I opted for natural light to give a lovely soft feel.  As well as capturing each individual box and it’s contents I also created a series of flat lays specifically for banners with copy space.  These set ups always take careful visualisation of the space required for copy so that the image can translate easily across into the design.  I also undertook a series of documentary style portraits of business owner Debby and a sense of the tailored hands on element of the company.

I thought I’d share some screen shots to show the images in place with branding and colours.  I’ve also included some individual images to show favourite images from the shoot.
