Wedding at The Normans – Emily and Danny
WEDDING AT THE NORMANS
EMILY & DANNY
I always adore photographing a wedding at The Normans. If you don’t already know it then you’re in for a treat – it’s a gem of a venue just on the outskirts of York with the perfect mix of rural and contemporary. Oh – and there are also millions of twinkly lights which in my book is always a very good thing!
Emily and Danny’s wedding day was such a happy smiley one. I loved the unexpected twists they had planned. Emily and Danny are huge Doc Martin fans and both rocked some cool DM’s with their wedding attire. Emily’s stunning dress came from Ava Rose Hamilton in Lancashire. I love that the page boy and flower girl had cute little Doc Martin boots on too! A wonderful surprise was the appearance of Emily’s singing teacher who performed along with some of her other pupils with a string quartet in the ceremony. Emily is a soprano and works regularly with Opera North. Following popular request she gave a mini recital with her fellow students and teacher. This was a beautiful moment to photograph.
The reception then continued in the marquee where Purple Chilli served up some gorgeous food. I loved the table layout that Emily and Danny had opted for in the marquee. The long tables added a really sociable vibe and gave a very different feel to the traditional round tables. Speeches then followed – I always love documenting all of the reactions and emotions. Photography then flowed into the evening to capture Emily and Danny’s first dance. I then tiptoed away leaving a fantastic party in full swing!
The beautiful flowers were by super talented Kate Mell – her work is always gorgeous.
So many congratulations again to you both xx
