Will’s Marquees Wedding Open Day at Jervaulx Abbey
WILL’S MARQUEES WEDDING OPEN DAY
I was so delighted to be asked to exhibit at the Will’s Marquees wedding open day on Sunday. The event was held at beautiful Jervaulx Abbey in the Yorkshire Dales. Will’s had created a beautiful showcase with one of their traditional canvas pole tents. The weather was so kind and we were treated to picture perfect blue skies and warm sunshine.
I recently undertook a commission for Will’s on the manufacturing side of the business as they make their own marquees. The open day was a great opportunity to add to this portfolio of images showing the craftsmanship and finish of the marquees.
There was an amazing team of top Yorkshire wedding suppliers available on the day to help brides and grooms to be with their planning. I was in detail heaven with the astounding floristry and styling work of Lynne Hodgkinson from Stems Design and Rachel Chippendale from Simply Vintage Events. They had created a few different looks throughout the marquee, with highlights being the epic hanging foliage rings around the end poles and the beautiful candlelit pink blossom table centre. Lynne had also created some stunning bridal bouquets which looked and smelt divine.
The circular bar from Will’s Marquees was an amazing focal point, topped by the foliage pole ring. Vintage Event Bars ran the bar keeping guests happy with Pimms and cocktails. Other items of marquee furniture was provided by Cathy at Blacks. The generator to make sure we had power for the day was from Gary at Abbey Event Services
Gayle Hussan from Where the Ribbon Ends had some of her gorgeous cake creations to show. Gayle is actually part of the Burdon family who own Jervaulx Abbey. She bakes and decorates her cakes in her studio in the Jervaulx Abbey Tearooms.
The Durham Ox were on hand with Prosecco and canapes to showcase their outside catering services.
A very essential part of any marquee wedding is the conveniences! Sweet Pea had provided their facilities for the day.
On the photography front there was obviously myself !! You can find out lots about my wedding photography services on my website – Olivia Brabbs Weddings. Ruth Mitchell was also exhibiting. Ruth is based near Thirsk and cover weddings across Yorkshire.
Couples who choose to get married at Jervaulx Abbey can opt for a few different locations. The tea room is licensed for civil ceremonies or the grounds of the Abbey can be used for blessings. The team at Jervaulx had put up a stretch tent to showcase a wet weather contingency for outdoor ceremonies.
Ambiance was created by the beautiful music of Rachel Croft and Jonny Holbeck. I had actually photographed Rachel the day before at a fabulous event for Fashion City York at The Grand Hotel in York so it was lovely to hear her perform again.
Here are some general images from the day showing guests enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
It was also wonderful to catch up with wedding planner extraordinaire Lucy from Lucy Wright Events. Lucy co-ordinates weddings at Newby Hall and as many couples choose a Will’s marquee for their Newby wedding she was on hand for planning consultations. I thought I’d share a link to a gorgeous wedding from last year which featured a marquee from Will’s at Newby Hall.
A huge thank you to Will’s Marquees and all of the team at Jervaulx for organising such a wonderful event.
